Green Bay, Wis.-based Associated Bank appointed Phillip Trier to lead corporate and commercial banking and Gregory Warsek as deputy head of commercial real estate and facilities.
An executive vice president, Trier, 46, joined the bank last December. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. John’s University and graduated from the Pacific Coast Banking School.
“Phil has shown strong leadership and vision while delivering results that grow our business and advance our strategic plan,” said Associated Bank President and CEO Andrew Harmening. “Gaining market share in our commercial business is a key pillar of Associated Bank’s strategy, and with Phil’s expertise and leadership, I am confident we will continue to expand this segment as we move into the next phase of our plan.”
Also an EVP, Warsek, 60, started his career with U.S. Bank and joined Associated Bank 22 years ago to establish its Chicago commercial real estate business, as well as its St. Louis CRE LPO two years later. He has an MBA from Marquette University and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
“Under Greg’s leadership, the CRE and facilities team will undoubtedly continue the momentum and success achieved under Paul’s direction,” Harmening said. “Greg’s deep knowledge of CRE and his commitment to supporting the local communities we serve has earned the respect of banking industry leaders within our verticals.”
John Utz, current head of corporate and commercial banking at the $42 billion bank, will become head of specialized industries and capital markets, an EVP, and remain Milwaukee market president. He’s been with the bank since 2010.
