ChoiceOne Bank promotes four employees, hires three more

Sparta, Mich.-based ChoiceOne Bank promoted four employees and hired three more as it grows across Michigan.  

Promotions included:

  • Durynda Kiefer to vice president, treasury management officer. Kiefer joined ChoiceOne in 2006 as a part-time teller and has been promoted multiple times since, most recently three years ago to assistant vice president, treasury management officer. She graduated from the Michigan Bankers Association Perry Schools of Banking, Michigan State University in East Lansing.
  • Tom Moore to business analyst team lead. Moore, who joined the bank as an application administrator in 2018, has eight years of experience in the financial industry. 
  • Evan Patterson to assistant vice president, finance manager. Patterson joined the bank four years ago as a senior financial analyst, and was promoted to finance manager in 2022. 
  • Luke Spoelstra to cybersecurity team lead. Spoelstra joined ChoiceOne in 2017 as a senior IT analyst.

The bank hired Matt Harris as a mortgage loan officer, Ana Pena as a community development officer and Gregory Zubal as assistant vice president and technology infrastructure team lead.

Harris has 25 years of experience in mortgage lending and consulting with financial institutions. Pena, who has two decades of experience in the banking and nonprofit sectors, has been a personal banker, mortgage consultant and CRA lender for several large regional banks. Zubal has 15 years of experience in network administration and project management, most recently as an officer/IT infrastructure manager for a regional bank in Farmington Hills, Mich.
