ChoiceOne Bank promotes three, hires VP

Sparta, Mich.-based ChoiceOne Bank recently promoted three employees and hired a fourth. 

The bank promoted Brent McCarthy to senior vice president, chief credit officer; Ryan Wolthuis to SVP, senior lender for the west Michigan region; and Craig Oosterhouse to vice president, market manager for Grand Rapids, Mich., and Holland, Mich. The bank hired Andy Usik as VP, market manager for Sparta and Muskegon, Mich. 

McCarthy joined ChoiceOne as SVP, Muskegon market executive four years ago. He has 28 years of commercial banking experience with community banks in west Michigan. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University, East Lansing. 

A banker with 23 years of commercial banking and executive management experience, Wolthuis joined ChoiceOne Bank in 2020 as SVP, Grand Rapids market executive. He has an MBA from Grand Valley State University, Allendale, Mich., and a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from Calvin College, Grand Rapids. Wolthuis graduated from the American Bankers Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking in partnership with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.  

Oosterhouse, who joined ChoiceOne in 2021, has 28 years of banking experience. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Calvin College. 

Usik has nearly 20 years of business experience in west Michigan, including 16 with a regional bank. He has an MBA from Grand Valley State University and a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University.
