Sparta, Mich.-based ChoiceOne Bank is accepting applications for its annual scholarship program.
ChoiceOne will award 12 $1,000 scholarships to a dozen students from the local communities the $2.6 billion ChoiceOne serves in west and southeastern Michigan. Family of ChoiceOne Bank employees can also apply, with one selected student to receive $1,000.
The program is for students who will attend an accredited Michigan college this fall. Eligible candidates include graduating high school seniors, GED recipients and home school students with a record of high school equivalency and college eligibility during the current calendar year.
Applications will be accepted through March 7. Applicants must write a community service-related essay of 500 words or less.
“Our high school seniors are the next generation of leaders, and we believe it’s important for them to realize the benefits of being raised and educated in a caring and supportive local community,” said President Michael J. Burke, Jr. “In the end, it is always our hope that our students return to their roots to raise their families and advance their careers in our communities.”
