Community banker began with big bank training

Tony Gambaiani grew up in Rockville, Ind., a town of about 2,700, where his father was the school superintendent and his mother was a teacher. Opting out of a career in the family profession, he turned instead toward banking as an undergraduate at Franklin College, just south of Indianapolis. While there, he interned in the marketing department of First Indiana Bank, Indianapolis, now M&I.
