Crown Bank Founder Tom Healey dies

Tom Healey died Dec. 17 at the age of 86.

Healey entered banking in the 1990s, and was president of the former Nerstrand, Minn.-based Bank Windsor, which was acquired by Associated Banc-Corp in 2000. That same year, Healey co-founded Crown, where he remained as chair.

Today, Healey’s son, John F. Healey, chairs both Crown Bank and subsidiary Crown Bankshares, Inc.

A successful developer of multifamily housing in the Twin Cities suburbs, Healey founded Healey Ramme Co. with Peter Ramme in the 1980s. 

Healey attended the University of Minnesota and the University of Minnesota Law School. 

A visitation for Healey is scheduled from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapel in Edina, Minn., with a funeral mass slated for 11 a.m. Dec. 27. Visitation is slated a half hour before the funeral at Saint John The Baptist Catholic Church in Excelsior, Minn.
