Indiana-based First Bank of Berne donated $10,000 to four local groups within the last month, including:
- $5,000 for a Feed My Starving Children MobilePack event slated for later in March. The bank committed to a match donation for the South Adams FFA Community Food Drive and agreed to give $1 for every can donated up to $5,000.
- $2,500 to local nonprofit Arts Place. The organization makes art education, services and experiences accessible to area residents, artists and cultural organizations.
- $2,000 to Bluffton (Ind.) Parks Department for health and wellness events and Rock Steady Boxing, a boxing-inspired fitness curriculum for people living with Parkinson’s disease.
- $500 to The Brok’n Axoles, a local group of classic car owners. “We hope to share our passion for classic cars with the younger generations so they will continue to be cherished and shown in the future,” said Brok’n Axoles President Shari Tomac.
