Indiana’s First Bank of Berne recently donated $2,500 to two local events.
The bank donated $1,500 to Dunkirk (Ind.) Glass Days. The one-day celebration, which took place Aug. 17, recognized the city’s glass industry history along with its organizations and businesses. The event included local booths from area businesses, tours, games and a car show.
First Bank of Berne donated $1,000 to work readiness event Jay County-Back a 4-Her. The event is intended to help youth practice networking and other work readiness skills. “Employers, community leaders and individuals will meet tomorrow’s leaders and workforce to help our youth develop critical skills such as communication and relationship building,” according to the bank.
“This donation will be divided amongst the youth to grow their possibilities for the future. Youth can invest this money in their college savings account, purchase supplies for next year’s projects, pay for a camp or trip experience, etc.”
