First Business Bank golf event raises $48K for nonprofits

A charity golf tournament hosted by Brookfield, Wis.-based First Business Bank raised $48,000 for nonprofits in the Madison and Milwaukee areas. 

The event has raised more than $750,000 for nonprofits in the Milwaukee and Madison areas over the past 14 years. The Sept. 9 event allowed local business leaders to compete in two-person teams on behalf of a local charity of their choice. First Business Bank covers all of the event costs. 

Winning golfers and charities included:

  • First place: $25,000 on behalf of Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary in memory of Hadley McCormick by Dino Calarco and Bryan Benishek. 
  • Second place: $10,000 on behalf of Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by Todd Trzcinski and Ross Zahour. 
  • Four teams each secured $3,250 for their chosen nonprofits, including Oconomowoc, Wis.-based nonprofit Zachariah’s Acres by Ben Fahrenholz and Mark Hammer; The Folds of Honor Wisconsin chapter by Steve DeCleene and Matt Neumann; split between disabilities services nonprofit Easterseals Wisconsin & Children’s Wisconsin by Brad Quade and Matt Demet; and $3,250 won on behalf of Milwaukee-based domestic abuse treatment center Sojourner Family Peace Center by Bryan Swanson and Steve Szymanski.
