First National Bank & Trust CEO announces retirement

Michigan-based First National Bank & Trust CEO David Kashian is retiring after 30 years with the bank.

A former OCC bank examiner, Kashian’s career at the Iron Mountain-based bank began in 1993 as a senior vice president and senior loan officer. In 2005, Kashian was named president and CEO. He served as president until June 2022, when he was succeeded by Russell Kassin.

During Kashian’s 17-year tenure as CEO, the bank grew to $816 million from $302 million and expanded into Menominee, Iron and Marquette counties. Kashian will remain on the bank’s board.

Kashian graduated from Northern Michigan University, Marquette, with a Bachelor of Science degree, and graduated in 1996 from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
