First Security Foundation donates $10,000 toward splash pad

Charles City, Iowa-based First Security Foundation donated $10,000 toward the construction of a splash pad in Riceville, Iowa.

The splash pad will be 1,000 square feet and include a donor wall, privacy fences and seating. The park where the splash pad will be includes tennis courts, basketball hoops, picnic shelters and a playground. Of the $150,000 budgeted for the project, organizers have raised a little more than $105,000. The Riceville Community Club plans to open the facility in August.

“We’re just so grateful for the donations that we’ve already received from our community members and through community members’ hard work at applying for grants and seeking out other funds to help us with this,” said Abby Gomez, vice president of the Riceville Community Club. “Additionally, the donated time, efforts and equipment of our wonderful tradesmen that we have here in the community has been huge. We’re thankful they could fit this project into their already busy schedules.”
