First State Bank names Matthew Lemke president

New London, Wis.-based First State Bank named Matthew Lemke as president.

Lemke, who is expected to be elected to the $529 million bank’s board of directors later this month, succeeds Bob Van Asten as he nears his March 31 retirement.

Lemke started his banking career in 2004 as a personal banker at JPMorgan Chase in Appleton, Wis. He’s held leadership roles at Wisconsin banks since 2005, most recently as chief operating officer at Bristol Morgan Bank, Oakfield.

“First State Bank has a long history of serving its customers, communities, and employees,” Lemke said. “I am excited to join an outstanding team and look forward to carrying on that dedication to delivering a meaningful community banking experience.”
