Retired CPA Doug Fitzgerald has joined the board of directors of Foresight Financial Group, Winnebago, Ill.

Fitzgerald has served as a partner with Lindgren, Callahan, Van Osdol & Co., and with Wipfli LLP. As a partner with LCV, he led the Sterling, Ill., office and was head of the financial institutions practice. While he was there, the bank client list grew to more than 160 members from eight.

After Wipfli acquired LCV in 2010, he was part of a team that served more than 600 banks. He served in the audit, tax and consulting practices and continued to lead the Sterling office.

He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where he was a Bronze Tablet scholar.

“I am pleased Doug is joining our team and confident in the leadership he will provide our organization,” said Robert W. Stenstrom, board chair at the $1.2 billion Foresight.

Foresight, which has the largest deposit market share in Stephenson County, Ill., operates six charters in Illinois: Northwest Bank of Rockford; State Bank, Freeport; State Bank of Davis; German American State Bank, German Valley; Lena State Bank; and State Bank of Herscher.
