FNBO adds branches in Kansas metro

First National Bank of Omaha, Neb., is celebrating the opening of its newest branch in Overland Park, Kan., on May 10.

The Blue Valley Parkway branch is the first of three to open this year in Johnson County, bringing the $24 billion bank’s presence in the metropolitan area to 10 branches.

“We’ve been part of the Johnson County community for nearly 30 years and we’re proud to expand our commitment to the area with these new locations,” said Sean Baker, executive vice president. “The bank currently operates nearly 100 retail branch locations across its seven-state service area.”

FNBO’s branches remain an integral part of the bank’s service model, its identity and a competitive advantage in its service communities, Baker said. Consistent with the bank’s new design, the Kansas locations reconfigure the total branch square footage by eliminating unused and inefficient space, and shifting to layouts that enable more advisory-style customer interactions, rather than the larger layouts previously designed for transactions.

“This change was initiated by listening to customer feedback, recognizing that customers increasingly embrace our digital banking tools to self-service their transactional needs, and reaffirming our dedication to helping our customers achieve financial wellbeing,” Baker said.

The two additional new locations, with opening dates to be announced, will include College Square, 12260 College Blvd, and Sonoma Plaza, 8820 Maurer Court, in Lenexa.
