Foresight Financial Group names Peter Morrison president/CEO

Peter Morrison was named president/CEO of Winnebago, Ill.-based Foresight Financial Group. Morrison has served in those roles on an interim basis since last October following the retirement of Rex Entsminger.

“Following a comprehensive search, the Board of Directors are confident in the continued leadership [Morrison] has demonstrated,” said Chair Bob Stenstrom. “This, coupled with his prior experiences and alignment with our core values and culture will serve our company, staff and shareholders well.”

Morrison joined the $1.44 billion Foresight Financial in 2021 as president/CEO of State Bank, a Freeport, Ill.-based subsidiary. A banker with three decades of experience, Morrison served as president of Illinois-based Elgin State Bank for a dozen years before Wintrust Financial acquired the bank in 2011. Morrison later served as CFO and chief operations officer for two Wintrust charters, including St. Charles Bank & Trust and Wheaton Bank & Trust.

Morrison graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington, and the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking.
