IBA exec to retire

Indiana Bankers Association Executive Vice President Paul Freeman will retire Sept. 30 after nearly 35 years of service. 

Freeman joined the association in 1987 to fill the newly created director of member services position. In 1992, he created the annual IBA Mega Conference. He helped establish the IBA Center for Professional Development in 1996, which provides a variety of educational opportunities for Indiana bankers and orchestrated multiple office moves for IBA, including its most recent in 2017. He also managed New Markets Tax Credits transactions, enabling IBA support of college-level banking education in Indiana.

Freeman

Freeman is a past chair of the Indiana Council for Economic Education and past president of the Indiana Society of Association Executives, which honored him as Association Professional of the Year in 2006. He was appointed to the Indiana Statewide Certified Development Corp., board of directors in 2018 and has been a longtime member of the American Society of Association Executives. He was named to the IBA 40 Year Club in 2014, which recognizes Indiana professionals with more than 40 years of banking experience.
