Gate City Bank to mark 100 years with $100,000 donation to charity

Fargo, N.D.-based Gate City Bank will mark its centennial next month by donating $100,000 to a charity as part of the Giving Hearts Day community giving initiative.

Founded 15 years ago, Giving Hearts Day is a 24-hour event for charities in both North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. Since 2014, the $3.2 billion Gate City Bank has donated $1.5 million for charities through community nomination contests, by matching team member donations and through surprise bonus gifts. Giving Hearts Day 2023 will be marked on Feb. 9.

“Gate City Bank stands out by going above and beyond every year,” said Giving Hearts Day Director Amanda Sayre. “We so appreciate the bank’s innovation and creativity in growing community awareness around this special day, and telling the story of why it’s important to give.”

Gate City Bank will also donate $5,000 to five charities through its annual nomination contest. Nominations for the contest will be accepted from Jan. 18 until Feb. 2. The winners will be selected through a random drawing and will be announced on Feb. 9.
