Vets honored
The theme of the 2012 Iowa Bankers Association convention was “A tribute to Iowa veterans.”
Salvatore Giunta, awarded a Medal of Honor by President Obama for acts of valor in Afghanistan on Oct. 25, 2007, opened the convention with his presentation at the IBA agricultural breakfast. During his opening remarks, IBA vice president of ag lending Don Foley asked veterans in the room to stand. Giunta commented that of all the groups he has addressed, this group had the most vets.
