IBMC and Iowa banks honored for home lending

The Iowa Finance Authority has recognized top lenders from throughout the state for their efforts in advancing affordable homeownership through IFA’s programs in 2016, and Iowa Bankers Mortgage Corporation (IBMC) was named the top lender.

IBMC partnered with IFA to assist 296 homebuyers in 2016, amounting to $28.7 million in loans.

Several banks also were recognized by the IFA for being top IFA lenders. Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., Des Moines, earned a silver award after assisting 165 home buyers with $16.3 million in loans. US Bank , Des Moines, (97 homebuyers, $9.7 million in loans), Dubuque Bank & Trust (65 homebuyers, $8 million in loans), Great Western Bank, Clive, (81 homebuyers, $6.8 million in loans), Bank Iowa, West Des Moines, (66 homebuyers, $6.5 million in loans), First American Bank, Fort Dodge, (52 homebuyers, $6 million in loans), American Bank & Trust Co., Davenport, (48 homebuyers, $5.4 million in loans) and Great Southern Bank, Ankeny, (54 homebuyers, $5.4 million in loans) all earned bronze awards.
