Illinois CFO helps lead bank through recession

Debbie Maw, chief financial officer of HomeStar Bank and Financial Services, played a key part of shepherding the bank through the troubled times of the Great Recession.

Maw is one of six women honored by NorthWestern Financial Review as a 2015 Outstanding Woman in Banking.

“She bleeds HomeStar,” said Patrick Martin, president of the $331 million Manteno, Ill., bank, which is about 60 miles south of Chicago.
