Indiana’s First Bancshares names president

Contrucci

Anthony Contrucci was named president of Merrillville, Ind.-based First Bancshares Inc., the holding company of Centier Bank.

Contrucci joined the bank in 2011 and has two decades of experience in financial services and banking. A board member of both First Bancshares and Centier Bank, Contrucci has a Bachelor of Science degree from Bentley University, Waltham, Ma., and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Fla. He also graduated from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking.

Contrucci is a son-in-law of Centier CEO Michael Schrage and co-leader of the fifth generation of Centier Bank family ownership. In January, the bank appointed Chris Campbell to bank president. Campbell is married to Schrage’s oldest daughter.

“Anthony is driven and has a passion for Centier’s perpetuity,” said CEO Michael Schrage. “He possesses a strong commitment to impacting and enriching lives in our communities.”
