Deb Lorenzen has joined the board of Stearns Bank N.A., St. Cloud, Minn.

Lorenzen is managing director and head of enterprise data governance for State Street Bank in Boston. In her current role, she is responsible for leading and advancing firm-wide data governance capabilities in support of business, client and regulatory objectives.

Previously, Lorenzen was chief operating officer for portfolios of industry leaders State Street Global Advisors and BNY Mellon. She has led significant efforts in the process of streamlining global operations through the implementation of digital workplaces, including broad use of social technology, interactive simulations, video and gamification.

Lorenzen has a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Fresno, and an MBA from Columbia University Business School. She is a part-time adjunct professor in the MBA program at Providence College, Providence, R.I. “We’re excited to welcome someone with such a demonstrated commitment to staff engagement and organizational structure,” said Kelly Skalicky, president and CEO of  Stearns Bank. “Deb has a proven track record for leading internal and external change programs through periods of growth as well as consolidation, and her experience as an internal ambassador across 35 countries is an invaluable asset that will bring together the board’s wide-ranging skillsets.”

The $2.2 billion Stearns Bank has offices in Minnesota, Arizona and Florida and specializes in small business lending and equipment financing.
