Matt Klein appointed president of KleinBank

Matt Klein

Matt Klein has been named president of KleinBank, Chaska, Minn. Klein has more than 22 years of experience in financial services. Prior to becoming president, he was KleinBank’s chief consumer banking officer, president of the KleinBank branch in Savage, and vice president of business development at the bank’s Chaska location. Klein formerly worked at Fleet Financial in Rhode Island, where he served as portfolio manager and financial analyst.

“Matt has distinguished himself in many ways over the last several years, providing outstanding leadership in market, regional and bank-wide roles,” said CEO Doug Hile in a news release. “[Matt’s] education, experience and commitment to KleinBank make him an exceptional candidate for this important leadership position.”

Originally from Victoria, Minn., Klein holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and an MBA from Bryant College, Smithfield, R.I.

Klein has served as a volunteer for numerous organizations including the Chaska Lions Club, St. Francis Regional Medical Center Board of Directors, 360 Communities Board of Directors, Carver County Health Partnership, and St. John’s Lutheran Church and School. Klein is the fourth generation of his family to work for KleinBank. He and his wife have two children and live in Eden Prairie.                

The Klein family entered banking in 1907 when C.H. Klein first bought stock in First National Bank of Chaska. Today, with assets totaling more than $1.9 billion and a financial team of more than 400 people, KleinBank is the largest family-owned state bank in Minnesota. KleinBank operates 21 branches in the Twin Cities region.
