mBank makes CTO, business development hires

Jake Martin

Manistique, Mich.-based mBank has hired Jake Martin as executive vice president and chief technology officer and Clyde Nelson as senior vice president, business development officer.

Martin has over 20 years of professional IT and leadership experience. Most recently, he was the CTO for Ferris State University, Big Rapids, Mich., a role he held for almost three years.

Prior to that, he also served as the director of IT/HIPAA Security Officer at Alpena Regional Medical Center from 2011 to 2016 and was the senior vice president of IT/communications at mBank from 2006 to 2011.

Martin also served as a Corporal with the United States Marine Corps, is a veteran of the Gulf War. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Maryland, College Park, and an MBA in information management from Aspen University, Denver.

“Jake brings a well-known, high level technical and senior leadership skill set to the table that will help us continue our strategic plans,” said Kelly W. Clyde Nelson

Nelson will join the mBank office in Merrill, Wis. Nelson has nearly 40 years of banking experience, most recently as senior vice president for mBank as part of the transition of the Lincoln Community Bank acquisition.
