McFarland State building donation will house hospital

Wisconsin’s McFarland State Bank is donating a former branch building to Stoughton Hospital. The building is located at 3162 County Highway B in the Town of Pleasant Springs. The building and property are valued at over $1.4 million.

Stoughton Hospital President/CEO Dan DeGroot praised the bank for its philanthropic spirit,

“McFarland State Bank is an outstanding community partner and generous donor,” he said. “The community is growing north and this property on Highway B and 51 will help Stoughton Hospital meet the growing health care needs of the entire community for generations to come.”

The hospital and bank started working together on this venture in mid-May when chair and CEO E. David Locke contacted the hospital. “It was an easy decision to gift the property to Stoughton Hospital,” Locke said. “We’re very happy to be giving back to the hospital and continuing our support for the communities we both serve.”

McFarland State Bank recently donated their former downtown branch office building and parking lot to the City of Stoughton. That property is now being used as Stoughton City Hall.

The $516 million McFarland State Bank has four branches in southern Wisconsin.
