Winona, Minn.-based Merchants Bank’s 10 Days of Giving food drive raised 287,910 pounds of food this year to support food shelf programs at Winona Volunteer Services.
The total included more than $133,000 in cash and nearly 22,000 pounds of food. The total exceeded 2023, when 261,127 pounds of food were collected. The food drive has raised 5.09 million pounds of food over 36 years.
Merchants collected donations at its branches and participating local schools, businesses and other organizations. The food drive is an annual community collaboration between Winona Volunteer Services and Merchants Bank.
“The 10 Days of Giving food drive provides many meals for families and individuals throughout the holidays and into next year,” said Co-Chair Ashley Harrison last month. “We are fortunate to belong to a community that consistently supports one another year after year.”
