MIB hires relationship manager

Joe Steil joined Midwest Independent Bank, Jefferson City, Mo., as vice president and relationship manager.

In his new position, Steil’s focus will be new account development and servicing of existing MIB customers in Iowa with MIB’s other current relationship manager Stacy Snyder.

“Joe is well known and respected by community bankers in our marketplace. We are glad he is a now a part of the MIB family,” said Matt Sinnett, president and CEO of the $279 million bankers’ bank.

Steil was most recently with the Lee County (Mo.) Economic Development Group. For nearly 15 years he was the president and CEO for Keokuk Savings Bank and Trust Company in Iowa. He has more than 40 years’ of banking experience within the industry and has worked with the Iowa Bankers Association on several committees and boards.

Steil is a graduate from several American Bankers Association Schools, including the ABA Retail Banking School, and ABA Graduate School of Commercial Lending.

Steil also graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has  a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting from Briar Cliff College (now Briar Cliff University) in Sioux City, Iowa.
