Michigan bank raises $40K for local school districts

Fenton, Mich.-based The State Bank’s Change 4 Kids Campaign raised $40,875 this year for 15 local school districts.

Funds are collected through fundraising events organized by bank staff such as fundraisers and customer donations. The $1.75 billion bank also makes a large donation to the program. 

“The State Bank has been an amazing partner in helping support our schools and our families,” said Lake Fenton Community Schools Superintendent Julie Williams. “The Change 4 Kids program has provided our school district with additional funds that are used to provide several students and their families with additional resources that may be difficult for them to afford.”  

The program has donated nearly $348,500 to local school districts since its inception in 2011. Change 4 Kids has provided household items, toiletries, school supplies, food and clothing. This year, 15 districts received funding, including:

  • Fenton Area Public Schools
  • Flint Community Schools
  • Grand Blanc Community Schools
  • Grass Lake Community Schools
  • Holly Area Schools
  • Lake Fenton Community Schools
  • Linden Community Schools
  • Montrose Community Schools
  • New Lothrop Area Public Schools
  • Stockbridge Community Schools
  • St. Charles Community Schools
  • Swan Valley Schools
