MidWestOne taps former Old National exec to lead bank

Len Devaisher

Iowa’s MidWestOne Financial Group named Len Devaisher as president and chief operating officer for both the holding company and MidWestOne Bank effective July 27.

Currently a vice president of development with United Way of Dane County, Devaisher takes on the role of president from Charles N. Funk, who will remain CEO of both companies.

Previously Wisconsin region CEO for Indiana’s Old National Bank, Devaisher has more than 19 years of banking experience, largely in commercial banking and business development. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the University of Evansville, Ind., and is a graduate of the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking and the Wharton School.

“Len has a record of superb accomplishment from his time at Old National,” Funk said. “More importantly, he is a wonderful choice to lead and continue to develop our corporate culture. We have been impressed by the quality of his professional achievement as well as the quality of the person.”

Devaisher sits on the board of Madison Region Economic Partnership and Downtown Madison Inc. Earlier in his career, he spent three years in Tanzania as COO of Young Life Africa, setting up the organizational infrastructure for affiliates across Africa.

Funk has been president of Iowa City-based MidWestOne since 2000. Previously, he spent time at Brent Bank, Union National Bank and American National Bank. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from William Jewell College, Liberty, Mo., and was BankBeat’s 2014 Banker of the Year.
