Edina-based Minnesota Bank & Trust is crossing the Mississippi with its first office in St. Paul, Minn., opening next week.

The new location, in the St. Anthony Park neighborhood, “will allow us to better serve our commercial and small business clients and prospects on the east side of the metro along with the core cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul,” said President and CEO Steve Bishop. “We are excited about our prospects for this new location and the future of this market.”

The branch will be led by Senior Vice Presidents Heath Stanton and Eric Britt, who each have more than two decades worth of banking experience. Stanton has been with Minnesota Bank & Trust since last summer and previously spent time with Riverland Bank, Jordan, Minn.; Anchor Bank (now part of Old National Bank, Evansville, Ind.), Associated Bank, Green Bay, Wis., and U.S. Bank, Minneapolis. Hired in July, Britt has held positions with Old National/Anchor Bank, Alliance Bank, Lake City, Minn., and Bremer Bank, St. Paul.

The $961 million Minnesota Bank & Trust currently has an office each in Edina and Minnetonka, Minn. The charter is part of the $18.4 billion Heartland Financial USA, Inc., which has 11 banks with offices in Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico, Texas and Wisconsin.
