Minneapolis Fed names new president
The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis named Narayana Kocherlakota, Ph.D., its new president and CEO effective October 8. Kocherlakota succeeds Gary Stern, the longstanding leader of the Minneapolis Fed, who retired earlier this year. Kocherlakota had been a professor of economics at the University of Minnesota, where he previously chaired the economics department; he was also a consultant to the Fed.
