North Shore Bank hosting donation program to help vets, active-duty personnel

Brookfield, Wis.-based North Shore Bank is hosting the matching donation program “Bank on Kindness” through Nov. 14 to support two Wisconsin Honor Flights next year.

The public can donate to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight in Menomonee Falls and Old Glory Honor Flight in Menasha through a website created by the bank. North Shore Bank is matching all donations up to $2,000 for each organization and has established a $1,000 “surprise and delight fund” for its employees to award local veterans, veteran support organizations and active-duty men and women.

“During the month of November especially, it’s extremely important to recognize our local heroes and veterans, which is why we’re thrilled to support the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight and Old Glory Honor Flight through our Bank on Kindness campaign,” said Susan T. Doyle, senior vice president of retail banking at North Shore Bank. “We have colleagues, customers, neighbors, family, and friends who have bravely served our country making this campaign particularly close to our hearts. Thank you in advance to all of those who join us in donating to create an unforgettable experience for multiple area veterans.”

The Honor Flights accept applications for veterans from World War II, the Korean and Vietnam wars, and the terminally ill who served in other conflicts. The public can donate by texting “Kindness” to 77948 to receive a link to the website via text message or visit the donation websites. Individuals are not required to be a North Shore Bank customer or Mastercard card holder to donate.
