Leadership changes at Elk River bankEdmund Babcock has retired as chairman of the board of The Bank of Elk River, Minn., a bank founded by his great grandfather in 1885. Babcock, 85, will remain on the bank’s board. The attorney had been chairman since 1979.Babcock retired from the chairmanship on July 1 and the Elk River City Council declared it “Edmund Babcock Day.” Babcock turned the chairmanship over to his 42-year-old son, John Babcock, who has been with the bank for 11 years . . .
