Milwaukee bank to leverage grant to grow business lending

North Milwaukee State Bank plans to use a $500,000 grant it received to grow its loan portfolio by $5 million. The bank received the award through the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund which is administered by the Department of the Treasury. The CDFI runs a Bank Enterprise Awards program which, on an annual basis, recognizes community banks that provide vital investments to distressed neighborhoods and generate significant impact for their communities.
