An event hosted by Oregon, Wis.-based One Community Bank in late September raised nearly $2,000 for local groups.
The Badger Tailgate raised $1,464 for Schumacher Farm Park and Waunakee Early Childhood Fund during the Sept. 28 event. One Community Bank donated $500 to each organization.
The Waunakee Early Childhood Fund addresses financial challenges that impact teacher retention and the quality of local early childhood education. The Schumacher Farm Park includes a living history museum and nature conservancy.
The event also included food, and beverages provided by Octopi Brewing. Bucky Badger, the University of Wisconsin-Madison Alumni Band and University Book Store attended the event. A University of Wisconsin football game was livestreamed on a jumbotron.
