Bret Afdahl is the new director of the South Dakota Division of Banking. Having served as the division’s counsel and trust examiner since 2006, Afdahl takes over for Roger Novotny, who retired as of May 1. Novotny, 62, had been the director for seven years after a long career in South Dakota state government.
