Horizon Bancorp names president

Michigan City, Ind.-based Horizon Bancorp Inc. named Thomas Prame as president of the company and its subsidiary, the $7.3 billion Horizon Bank.

Prame was most recently executive vice president and CEO of community banking at First Midwest Bancorp, Chicago, which merged earlier this year with Old National Bancorp, Evansville, Ind.

Prame will officially become president Aug. 15.

Prame has an MBA in finance from the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Ind., and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Rochester, N.Y.

“(Prame) brings extensive strategic leadership and digital technology experience along with a deep understanding of our local markets that will enable Horizon to continue serving the growing numbers of consumers and businesses in Indiana, Michigan and throughout the Midwest,” said Chair and CEO Craig Dwight.

Prame said he is “inspired by the culture the bank has created, and I look forward to leading our talented and dedicated team. Together, we will expand our technology-enabled business model and continue to position Horizon for long-term success.”
