Purchase poises bank to add branch

Skylet Cummings

ChoiceOne Bank of Sparta, Mich., has purchased a building in Rockford, Mich., and will remodel it into a full service branch set to open in October. This will be ChoiceOne’s third office in Rockford.

“Even though we know people like to do more of their banking electronically today, we also understand our customers want to visit us in person, too,” said ChoiceOne Bank President and CEO Kelly Potes.

Skylet Cummings is currently assistant vice president, branch manager for the Rockford market and will oversee customer care and business development in the area. Cummings joined ChoiceOne Bank a year ago with more than 20 years of banking experience in branch management, small business banking and business development.

With 4,556 square feet, the newly remodeled office will have a spacious lobby suitable for hosting community events.

ChoiceOne recently announced the purchase of another building in downtown Grand Rapids, Mich., and plans to renovate the building and open a full-service branch office late this summer. ChoiceOne Bank has engaged Integrated Architecture of Grand Rapids to design the site remodel for both the Grand Rapids and Rockford buildings.
