Security Financial gives $6K in scholarships to local students

Durand, Wis.-based Security Financial Bank awarded 12 area recent high school graduates $500 college scholarships. 

Every year, Security Financial awards up to two $500 scholarships in each of its markets to graduating high school seniors. Recipients are chosen based on involvement in youth organizations, school and community events, with particular preference given to students pursuing a career in business administration, accounting, or finance. 

Recipients included: 

  • Altoona High School graduate Ellie Benson, who will attend Chippewa Valley Technical College, Eau Claire. 
  • Durand High School graduate Olivia Breidung, who will attend the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. 
  • Durand High School graduate Tegan Bryan, who will attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison. 
  • Altoona High School graduate Anna Fedie, who will attend Iowa State University, Ames. 
  • River Falls High School graduate Johan Harworth, who will attend Chippewa Valley Technical College. 
  • Bloomer High School graduate Isabel Lebakken, who will attend Chippewa Valley Technical College. 
  • Lake Holcombe High School graduate Brooke Lechleitner, who will attend Central Connecticut State University, New Britain. 
  • River Falls High School graduate Ragan Pinnow, who will attend Augustana University, Sioux Falls, S.D. 
  • Black River Falls High School graduate Summer Rufsholm, who will attend the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse. 
  • Bloomer High School graduate Bowen Rothbauer, who will attend Augsburg University, Minneapolis. 
  • Lincoln High School graduate Taylor Stanley, who will attend Chippewa Valley Technical College. 
  • Flambeau High School graduate Christine Zimmer, who will attend Carthage College, Kenosha.
