Bob Southworth had balanced his teller drawer perfectly for more than a year. He humbly attributed that 18-month streak to luck, but at some point it had become a point of pride. So when his drawer was $20 short on his last day at HomeTown Bank, he did his best to keep his cool while searching everywhere. His upcoming college graduation couldn’t have left him that distracted, could it? Perhaps the bill had fallen beneath his chair or gotten buried in some papers. It had to be somewhere.
