St. Cloud, Minn.-based Stearns Bank named Heather Plumski president, effective immediately.
Plumski assumed the position from Kelly Skalicky, who will remain CEO. Plumski was most recently the bank’s chief financial and strategy officer.
Skalicky said Plumski for more than two decades “has been an instrumental leader at Stearns Bank — helping us grow and expand into new markets and communities while transforming our digital technology and navigating the ever-evolving economic landscape.”
Two people have held the role of president in the more than 60-year history of Stearns Bank: Skalicky and her late father, Norm Skalicky.
“Heather’s financial and business acumen is extraordinary, and her strong leadership skills and tenacious commitment to our company’s values and success will maximize our potential and unleash innovative transformation to enhance enterprise value,” Kelly said.
Stearns Bank hired Plumski 22 years ago to join its credit department. She’s since directed the bank’s online and mobile banking platform StearnsConnect and been chief strategy and data officer.
Plumski has also overseen the development, implementation and scaling of Stearns Salaam Banking and non-interest-bearing checking account BankONStearns.
Plumski has an accounting degree from the College of St. Benedict, St. Joseph, Minn.
