Straight Talk: A CFPB Dilemma

      Will the President nominate Barney Frank to head the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau? Although Elizabeth Warren is leading the bureau’s start-up phase, a permanent leader has yet to be named. If the Republicans win a majority in the House of Representatives, Frank would lose his chairmanship of the Banking Committee and might want something else to do. Frank argued adamantly that the bureau should be led by a single person rather than a committee, as the Senate argued. Frank won out and it’s possible he may end up filling the post . . .
