Straight Talk — Economic instability

      The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act signed on Oct. 3 by President Bush provides enough fodder for commentary to fill several editions of this magazine. It is too early to know how effective many of the provisions in the massive and historic law will be; furthermore, uncertainty about the presidential election this month and the installment of a new administration in January particularly cloud the immediate future.

      One of the biggest problems we have in the economy today is that prices no longer reflect actual value . . .
