Time for banks to go postal?

In the past, banking industry analysts have warned about the possibility of the U.S. Postal Service getting into the banking business. In some foreign countries, the postal service is a major financial services industry player. The fear in the United States was that the postal service would expand its financial services, particularly targeting the unbanked or under-banked. I haven’t heard any talk like that in quite a while; in fact, I think it is time for bankers to seriously begin talking about getting into the postal business.
