‘Wait and see’ on CFPB; who faces toughest regulator?

      Although Elizabeth Warren, the architect of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, told bankers at the Independent Community Bankers of America convention six weeks ago that the new agency will level the playing field to make it easier for community banks to compete, a compliance expert speaking at the same San Diego meeting warned bankers to withhold judgment until after the agency is up and running.
