Waukesha State Bank, FHLB Bank award $30K in grants

Waukesha, Wis.-based Waukesha State Bank partnered with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago to award two $15,000 grants to local small businesses The Steaming Cup and North Pillar Brewing Co.

The awards are through the FHLB Chicago’s Accelerate Grants program, which supports purchases and improvements of equipment, property, workforce development and technology. FHLB Chicago member banks and other organizations submitted grant applications on behalf of eligible small businesses.

The Steaming Cup used the grant to upgrade its heating and air conditioning system. North Pillar Brewing invested in a new canning line, allowing them to offer four-packs of beer in the to-go section of their taproom. The brewery is looking to expand their distribution to local liquor stores, bars and restaurants.

“Small businesses play a crucial role in our community, offering valuable products and services that enhance our local economy,” said Waukesha State Bank President & CEO Ty Taylor. “It was an honor partnering with FHLB Chicago to provide these opportunities.”
