Des Moines-based West Bancorp Foundation awarded $71,500 in grants to nearly 20 community organizations in 4Q 2021. West Bancorp is the charitable branch of West Des Moines-based West Bank.

Six of the 18 organizations that received grants were food pantries. West Bancorp grants are awarded to local community groups in the areas of human services, arts & culture, and education. Organizations receiving donations this quarter include Blank Children’s Hospital Festival of Trees & Lights, Camp Hertko Hollow, DMARC Food Pantry, Dowling Catholic High School, and numerous other groups.

The Foundation has given nearly $222,000 in philanthropic contributions this year. “We are proud to support such amazing organizations that are continually bettering our community,” said Jill Hansen, West Bank senior vice president and West Bancorp executive director. “West Bank believes in seeking out ways to make a difference and improve the communities we serve. During the holidays it is even more important that we find ways to meet the needs of vulnerable members of those communities.”
