Wisconsin-based National Bank of Commerce to acquire Minnesota bank

Superior, Wis.-based NATCOM Bancshares and its subsidiary National Bank of Commerce are expanding in Minnesota by acquiring Great River Holding Co., and its subsidiary, Baxter, Minn.-based RiverWood Bank. 

NATCOM has 10 branches and $1.4 billion in assets. The $625 million Great River Holding Co. has nearly a dozen locations in central and northern Minnesota. 

A purchase price and closing date were not announced. 

“This acquisition helps ensure local dollars remain in the region and allows NBC and RiverWood Bank to combine their strengths, shared values, culture and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service while offering their communities the best products and services,” according to NATCOM.
