Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking announces two promotions

The Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison announced two promotions:

  • Alexis Thering to vice president of student engagement and operations. Thering, who has 24 years of experience at GSB, was most recently operations manager.
  • Katie Bolen-Irwin to CFO. Bolen-Irwin, who joined the Graduate School of Banking as a controller last year, is a CPA and certified nonprofit accounting professional with two decades of experience in tracking and reporting grants, budgeting, preparing audits, making board presentations and improving processes.

Bolen-Irwin has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from the University of Michigan-Flint, and a Master of Science in accountancy and an MBA from Edgewood College, Madison, Wis.

Thering and Bolen-Irwin “are indispensable leaders within GSB,” said President Paul Katz. “These richly deserved promotions reflect their strategic vision, expertise and relentless focus on the student experience,” he added. “I’m confident that Alexis and Katie will have a profound impact on our continued innovation and growth.”
