Oklahoma Bankers name new head

Roger Beverage is retiring as president and CEO of the Oklahoma Bankers Association.

Adrian Beverage has been named the next president and CEO of the Oklahoma Bankers Association, effective May 1, 2021.

Beverage currently serves as the chief of staff, senior vice president and director of government relations for the OBA. He has served in his current role since 2000 and will succeed his father, Roger Beverage, who has been president and CEO since joining OBA in March 1988. Adrian Beverage has a bachelor’s degree in communications and political science from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Durant.

“After a comprehensive search, we selected a leader who has been a longtime advocate for our member banks and has built strong relationships with our members, legislators and regulators,” said Rick Walker, OBA board chair and CEO of Liberty National Bank, Lawton. “He is a results-oriented, strategic leader who we are confident will navigate our association through the changes our industry will face in the future.”

Roger Beverage will continue to lead the Oklahoma Bankers Association through April 2021 to ensure a successful transition. He began his career as a lawyer and joined the association at the urging of his friend Bob Harris, a former OBA executive vice president who also led the Nebraska Bankers Association. He is also a former director of the Nebraska Department of Banking and Finance. He has a bachelor’s degree and a law degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
